The Swedish HR tech company JobAgent matches job seekers and employers by highlighting the candidate's personal qualities instead of previous experiences. With the help of JobTech Development's APIs, the company has developed and improved its platform and received ideas for new and innovative solutions.
JobAgent is helping job seekers to introduce themselves professionally to potential employers beyond the traditional resume application format and is matching them with recruiting agencies. An “advertisement” is created via the company's platform, which highlights the candidate's personality and skills, in addition to education and previous work experience. The content is then made accessible and searchable, so recruiters can contact the candidate instead of the other way around. Candidates can also apply for other advertised jobs via the platform.
While working on developing the digital matching service, which have been on the market since 2019, JobAgent has benefited from open data and technology from JobTech Development.
“We use the APIs to develop and improve our platform, but also to create new innovative solutions. It's incredibly good! ”, comments Björn Elowson, founder and CEO.
So far, the company has mainly benefited from the API JobSearch, which provides access to all job ads on the job board Platsbanken and makes it possible to match the JobAgent's users with advertised jobs.
"It is only a matter of time before we will connect and bridge other APIs. We are currently looking at the possibility of using JobTech Taxonomy and JobAd Enrichments, in order to both optimise the job matching accuracy as well as to develop completely new solutions.", explains Björn.
JobAgent gets free access to technical solutions directly from the JobTech Development platform. The technical solutions are important pieces of the puzzle in order to attract and activate the platform's users, and thus play a key role for the company and its business as a whole.
"It is incredibly important. This means that we can offer our users the possibility to directly apply for jobs through our platform, while highlighting their profiles, making them interesting and easily searchable for recruiters. It has an indirect solid impact for our business since the candidates return to the platform and update the information about themselves.", says Björn Elowson.
What is your observation, how do authorities, private companies and other actors in the labour market collaborate and share data in the way we do through the JobTech Development platform?
"That's the only right thing to do! If we are eager to solve major problems that exist in the labour market, we need to collaborate. The Swedish Public Employment Service has the task to facilitate the matching in the labour market. If they do so by helping the private sector with technical solutions, which stimulate further the job matching, that is already a very good synergy. ”
If you were allowed to wish something freely, what kind of open data and/or technical solutions would you like we could offer, in addition to what you already use?
"The ability to translate your taxonomies (language concepts and nomenclature) into other languages. The work you have done is superb, but the labour market is an international market, and to get even more benefit for everyone from your innovations, we need them in English".
