The dataset mapping of labour market training programs

Manual Mapping of Competencies in Labour Market Training Programs with a Particular Focus on Green and Digital Transition

The dataset contains a manual mapping of learning outcomes to competency concepts, facilitating a link between education and labour market. The learning outcomes are extracted from module descriptions found in labour market training programs, while competency concepts are sourced from the JobTech Taxonomy. Additionally, the dataset also includes annotations of the competency concepts present in the competency collections "Competencies with green connection" and "Competencies with digital connection" (More information in Swedish is available here).

What does the product include?

Currently, the dataset consists of 419 labour market training programs, which are structured into 2,285 modules. Modules with similar content are merged and represented by 941 mapped modules within the dataset. There are 621 different competencies linked to the modules, of which 79 have a green connection and 149 have a digital connection. The dataset can be downloaded in both JSON and CSV formats.

What problem does the product solve?

For instance, the dataset offers the opportunity to track participants in labour market training programs and propose relevant competency concepts for matching.

For whom is the product created?

The dataset could be used as a foundation for procurement of labour market training programs and establishing criteria for incorporating green and digital content. Additionally, there is the aspiration that the dataset could be utilized to explore the correlation between education and labour market, ultimately improving language models that link education to professions/ competencies.

How could the product be improved?

The dataset would be improved if more segments of the education sector were included. Moreover, refining the clarity of learning objectives and integrating potential future connections to prevalent competency concepts in the labour market would improve the quality of the mapping.
