Collaboration for Development: JobTechDev Strengthens Partnerships with the Education Sector

For an extended period, JobTech Development has been working closely with students and the education sector throughout the country. Currently, we are enhancing our partnerships with universities and vocational colleges to advance the development of technical components and solutions based on JobTechDev's open data and datasets. The purpose is to continue creating practical and accessible technical solutions for the Swedish job market

Digitalisation creates possibilities for collaborative initiatives that link diverse data and technology domains, while utilizing open APIs and datasets. The role of the individual and his increased control over his future profession or career transition are essential components for improving the entire job market throughout his professional life. The evolving job market faces challenges that require innovative thinking and collaboration across various industries and sectors. For JobTech Development, an enhanced partnership with the education sector is a natural step in the right direction.

At different locations, students from the higher vocational college Media Institute, master's students from the Department of Informatics and Media at Uppsala University, and PhD candidates and researchers from SDCI Gothenburg* are working with JobTech Development's open APIs and datasets to tackle real job market challenges. This collaborative effort takes various directions, while students are showcasing the value and the potential of open data, both from the platform and other data sources, for addressing societal challenges and evaluating the long-term effects.

JobTech Development is leading several projects aiming at exploring the potential of combining datasets within the labour and the education sectors. Providing the individuals with better opportunities and digital tools to showcase their competencies in a rapidly changing job market is essential during career transitions and skills development. Improving job matching services through open data and common standards contributes to securing Sweden's future competence supply.
